Consumables for the time being
Hello friends. I currently feel unable to finish writing anything with a coherent theme so here is some intermediary chum in the water to satiate you all.
Things I have recently done and enjoyed:
Listen to Big Picture by Fenne Lily
I have been a fan of Fenne Lily’s melancholic indie since discovering her perfectly titled song “I Used To Hate My Body But Now I Just Hate You.” The singles for this album were well-selected and the album itself did not disappoint. My favorite song on the album is the heartbreaking “Red Deer Day,” which apparently I listened to a whopping 12 times yesterday. Probably not great for my mental health, but boy can Fenne write! I am going to see her perform in London, very excited to sway along.
Look at flowers
It’s spring! The flowers are blooming and I highly recommend viewing them. You may get strange looks from the dogs pooping nearby as I did; nevertheless, it’s a pleasant experience.
Listen to “Whatever’s Inconvenient” by CMAT
The queen of Irish pop/country has returned for her second album, the first single of which came out yesterday. Her humor and musical prowess are both on display here, further supporting my CMAT evangelism. I had already heard her play it live because I saw her last month (brag alert) but it is still on repeat in my Spotify queue when I need a break from the depression of Fenne Lily repetition.
Play Stardew Valley
I am not much of a gamer unless we’re talking Sims 3 or Nintendogs. But I love Stardew Valley! I started playing it two years ago when it swept through my university housing like the plague (too soon for COVID jokes?). Now I am back into it because my flatmate plays it and I had forgotten how fun it is! I am not a video game reviewer so I will let you look up further details but I enjoy any opportunity to make a character look like me and walk around.
Attempt to knit
I have started knitting in the hopes of having a craft for the many hours a day I spend staring at my computer. My grandma taught me to knit when I was very small but I did not keep it up so I have been using YouTube to reteach myself. My goal is to finish this scarf before it becomes too warm to wear a knit scarf, wish me luck!
TTYL xoxo
